Syracuse, NY – February 5, 2007 – For
the second consecutive year, Ithaca
College prevailed at the 6th
Annual Green & Seifter CPAs Accounting
Challenge. The team came
prepared with their best and brightest
accounting majors to take on three
other colleges, St. John Fisher,
SUNY Oswego and Le Moyne College.
They not only walked away with
the coveted trophy, but also a
digital camera for each player.
The game is Jeopardy style with
subject matter relating to accounting,
auditing, tax and business oriented
questions and was held at the Le
Moyne College Performing Arts Center
on Friday, February 2nd 2007.
The students prepare in advance for this event with their professors and brush up on everything from basic accounting to new tax laws and changes in accounting regulations. There is even a trivia board, this year with a category relating to Green & Seifter CPAs 50th Anniversary.
The judges included Edward S. Green, founder of Green & Seifter CPAs, Robert H. Colson, CPA, PhD with Grant Thornton LLP, Randal J. Elder, CPA, PhD and Associate Professor, Syracuse University and Director, Joseph I. Lubin School of Accounting, S.U., and Philip LaTessa, City Auditor, City of Syracuse.
The evening begins with a social hour including a buffet dinner and a chance for the students to get acquainted and meet the guests. Each school does an informative presentation featuring their school and participating students.
