A former Adjunct Professor at the Syracuse University College of Law, he is a member of the New York State and Onondaga County Bar Associations, and the American Institute and New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Green’s community involvement includes serving as Chair of the Everson Museum of Art, WCNY, Central New York Community Foundation and Cultural Resources Council, and as Co-Chair of InterFaith Works’ Community Wide Dialogue to End Racism Advisory Board. He currently serves
as a board member/officer of the Syracuse University Board of Trustees, Syracuse International Film & Video Festival, Gifford Foundation, Syracuse Symphony Orchestra, The Jewish Community Foundation of CNY, and Syracuse 20/20.
The Foundation has chosen to honor Green at the autumn event because he was instrumental in establishing the Foundation’s Endowment Fund, which reached a milestone this year by distributing $1 million in investment income to fund various projects at the hospital. Green has served on the
Crouse Health Foundation Board since 1975, serving on its Finance Committee, Campaign Cabinet for the Harry and Lillian Marley Education Center and as President from 1981 to 1983.
“I was there when the foundation began, then I was the chairman of the board,” Green said. “We had a target of $5 million to raise, now it’s up to about $24 million. That sort of self-sustaining fund is quite a legacy. It just seems natural to be a part of those people and that sort of environment.”
