Summer 2011 Internship Program

Green & Seifter CPAs is a local CPA firm with over 30 professionals that provide services in the areas of accounting, audit and taxation, business planning and valuation, financial planning and investment management, and fraud prevention and detection. Founded in 1957, Green & Seifter CPAs services clients within a 50 mile radius of its downtown Syracuse office.

Summer interns are responsible for general accounting and audit knowledge and will have interaction with firm professionals, administrative staff and clients. Summer interns will be responsible for preparing work papers and financial statements, internal controls testing, analytical reviews and verbal and written correspondence. A summer intern will have the responsibilities, training and respect of a new full time staff member.

Student requirements are:
• A minimum overall GPA of 3.5, at least 5 semesters of college credits completed
(by the end of the current semester).
• A major in accounting (CPA 150 hours program)
• Intention to work for a CPA firm in Central New York upon graduation.

Paid internships typically begin in mid June and end in late August.

Deadline to apply is December 15, 2010.

Supervisor, Audit division

The successful candidate is a licensed CPA with 6 years of experience in auditing with a heavy emphasis on governmental, public school district and not-for-profit reporting under Government Auditing Standards and OMB Circular A-133 reports. Must possess excellent technical skills and have significant experience supervising audit field staff and preparing/reviewing reports. Must demonstrate the desire to advance in public accounting. Limited travel required. Partner potential desired. Top salary plus bonus.

Senior Accountant, Audit division

The successful candidate is a licensed CPA or actively pursuing licensing with 3 or more years audit experience with an emphasis on manufacturing, governmental and not-for-profit audit and review engagements. Must possess excellent technical skills. Field in-charge skills required. Must demonstrate the desire to advance in public accounting. Very limited travel required. Partner potential desired. Top salary plus bonus.
